Rotation Experience

Rotation Experience

OutcomesMTM® offers a PharmD APPE rotation for student pharmacists who want to learn about medication therapy management (MTM) and managed care. In your 4-5 week rotation, you’ll get a taste of many areas of our business from the clinical aspects to marketing to technology. Learn how we create and market MTM services, support our network of providers and drive performance for our health plan clients. Round out your experience with a final project of your choosing.

This experience is an excellent opportunity for PharmD candidates who want to explore the business side of healthcare. We look for students who are self-motivated, organized team-players as you’ll work independently and collaboratively on assigned projects. You should be an advocate for pharmacists delivering quality MTM services and be competent in pharmacotherapy.

This fourth-year rotation is an approved elective rotation for the University of Iowa and Drake University colleges of pharmacy and available through other colleges of pharmacy via special arrangement. Dual major PharmD/MBA, MPA or JD candidates are strongly encouraged to consider the OutcomesMTM rotation. Please note direct provision of MTM services to patients is not part of this rotation.
