Outcomes joins eHIT Collaborative - 07.12.2012

Outcomes Incorporated (OutcomesĀ®) announces that it has teamed up with the Pharmacy e-Health Information Technology Collaborative (Collaborative) as a New Associate member. Through Outcomes' membership, they join the Collaborative's effort to ensure use of standardized electronic health records (EHR) for supporting safe and effective medication use, providing continuing care

"Bidirectional interoperability of MTM data is imperative for care and managing risk," said Patty Kumbera, Outcomes cofounder and COO. "Outcomes looks forward to a seat at the table of Pharmacy eHIT as the nation's leader in MTM, helping pharmacists provide access to the invaluable patient information they obtain through their face-to-face, local relationships."

Founded in 2010 by nine pharmacist organizations, the Collaborative improves patient-care quality and outcomes by integrating pharmacists' patient-care services into the national health information technology (HIT) infrastructure. The HIT infrastructure then assures safe, efficient and effective medication use via pharmacists working with the interdisciplinary team to provide patient-care services. The group is pursuing EHR standards that effectively support the delivery, documentation of and billing for these pharmacist-provided patient-care services across all care settings.
