Outcomes Incorporated, the national leader in Medication Therapy
Management (MTM) services, today announced its new name, OutcomesMTM. With the
input of health plans, MTM network pharmacists, employees and industry thought
leaders, OutcomesMTM is launched to reflect the company's commitment to leveraging
local relationships and innovative technology to advance the Face-to-Face
DifferenceTM in MTM.
"Our company is based on the idea that the trust and
accountability of local relationships among pharmacists, patients and
prescribers leads to higher quality MTM services and better results for
patients," said Tom Halterman, RPh, OutcomesMTM Chief Executive Officer. "With
the unprecedented growth that is occurring in MTM, it has never been more
important to highlight the difference between MTM services from a patient's local
pharmacist and MTM services from a stranger over the phone. That is the
face-to-face difference."
A pioneer in health care, OutcomesMTM contracts with more than 40
US health plans-including
Medicare plan sponsors, commercial plans, employers, Medicaid and other state
programs-to provide MTM coverage to 5 million patients. The company links
contracted plans with more than 60,000 local chain, independent, consultant and
health-system pharmacy providers.
OutcomesMTM-covered members are eligible for services from
specially-trained Personal Pharmacists™ in their communities to help them
achieve safe and effective results from their medications while controlling
costs. Through the OutcomesMTM Insight™ Clinical Engine, participating local
pharmacists receive alerts and information concerning medication use patterns,
as well as guidance on working with patients and doctors to close key therapy
gaps. All reporting takes place via the secure, online OutcomesMTM Connect™
Platform.
"With STAR Ratings, non-adherence, transitions in care and
regulatory compliance, among other concerns, the health care landscape has
never been more complex," said Patty Kumbera, RPh, OutcomesMTM Chief Operating
Officer. "However, the solution may be simpler than many believe-knowledgeable,
trusted local pharmacists in your neighborhood."
The change in
name does not reflect any change in ownership, leadership or direction. The
official brand transition launched today.
